The first meeting of the new UIW Planned Giving Council was held in September 2009. Chaired by University Trustee and San Antonio attorney, David Cibrian, council members include respected professionals from the areas of estate, tax, financial, and insurance planning. The Council is comprised of estate planning attorneys, CPA’s, Trust Officers, Financial Planners and insurance professionals.

Advisors serve an ever increasingly important role in the often complex field of estate planning and deferred or planned giving. Planned gifts are typically those made through an individual’s will or estate plan such as a bequest, but they can also be gifts created during an individual’s lifetime including charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts and gifts of property and life insurance.

Council members will advise UIW on its planned giving program and serve as a resource for alumni, friends and donors as needed. For a complete listing of Council members, please click here. For more information, please contact Diane Echavarria, UIW Planned Giving Director, at 210-829-6071 or dmechava@uiwtx.edu.

Gifts of any size are welcome.  All are tax-deductible.
