College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences
The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) provides
a well-rounded liberal arts education to its undergraduate students.
Many courses for the CORE Curriculum are housed in HASS. Because of their
broad-based education, graduates are attractive to employers in
business,
the arts, education, the medical and legal professions, and in social
service occupations. Students interested in medicine, dentistry, law,
and other professional fields often major in liberal arts as an excellent
foundation for entrance into professional schools.
HASS students may participate in research and study abroad, international internships, and course-based travel abroad.
The college offers degree programs in Cultural Studies, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Spanish, and Sociology. Majors are also available in Art, Music, and Theatre. A new interdisciplinary major and concentration is available in International Studies. Minors are available in Art History, Justice and Peace, Pre-Law, and Speech Communication as well as in many major areas. The Department of Theatre Arts has accreditation through the National Association of Schools of Theatre.
The master’s degree in Religious Studies is offered through the Pastoral Institute.
