Surveys

As part of the assessment cycle each year, the University of the Incarnate Word administers university-level surveys to the students, faculty, staff, alumni, or other members of the university community as approved by the Institutional Effectiveness Council.

Many of the reports results are already available on DASH and available to authorized personnel. Below you will find more information about currently administered or planned surveys. For more information please see University-Level Schedule of Assessments and Surveys.

ACCU - Catholic Identity & Mission Assessment (CIMA) Open

From the ACCU-CIMA website: "Institutional Principles for Catholic Identity and Mission Assessment: A Best Practices Guide assists institutions in understanding assessment domains unique to Catholic education. It is divided into 10 domains commonly expressed in the mission statements of Catholic colleges and universities (see below). Each domain is defined by a Guiding Principle, a brief Discussion on the background supporting the principle, a set of Guiding Questions to facilitate institutional discussion related to the domain, and a list of possible Indicators to assess evidence in that domain. Institutional Principles also provides additional references and resources to enrich institutional discussions." (More about CIMA)

CORE Alcohol and Drug Survey Open

From the CORE website: "The standard surveys offered by the Core Institute quantify and document college students' attitudes, perceptions, and opinions about alcohol and drugs. The surveys also measure behaviors of actual AOD use and consequences of use. The target audiences of the products and services offered by the Core project are college presidents, administrators, counselors, and others involved in student life and the quality of the college campus environment." CoursEval Open

CoursEval is the online evaluation tool used by UIW to provide feedback on selected courses. Access to complete your surveys can be found on BlackBoard.

LibQUAL+ Open

The survey website states that "LibQUAL+ is a web-based survey offered by the Association of Research Libraries that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library. The survey instrument measures library users' minimum, perceived, and desired levels of service quality across three dimensions: Affect of Service, Information Control, and Library as Place." ModernThink (Chronicle's Great Places to Work for) Open

The "Great Colleges to Work for" is administered each year to a representative sampling of UIW employees. (more about "Great Colleges to Work for")

Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership (MSL) Open

From the MSL website: "The MSL is an international research program focused on understanding the influences of higher education in shaping socially responsible leadership capacity & other leadership related outcomes (e.g., efficacy, cognitive skills, resiliency). Beyond a research program, the MSL is an international movement toward more effective, evidence-based college student leadership development." (More about MSL)

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) Open

From the NSSE website: “What is the survey about? Survey items on The College Student Report represent empirically confirmed "good practices" in undergraduate education. That is, they reflect behaviors by students and institutions that are associated with desired outcomes of college. NSSE does not assess student learning directly, but survey results point to areas where colleges and universities are performing well and aspects of the undergraduate experience that could be improved." Ruffalo Noel-Levitz Adult Learner Inventory (ALI) Open

The Ruffalo Noel-Levitz Adult Learner Inventory (ALI) is a satisfaction assessment for adult students completing undergraduate programs. It shows what kinds of services are important to them and how satisfied adult learners are with the services currently provided. (More about the ALI)

Ruffalo Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) Open

The RNL Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) measures student satisfaction and priorities for activities and services across the university. The results reveal how satisfied students are with these services, as well as what services are important to them. (More about the SSI)

San Antonio Express News Top Workplaces Survey Open

From the San Antonio Express News website: "San Antonio Express-News has recognized 95 Companies and Organizations in San Antonio as Top Workplaces for 2018. These companies have been recognized based solely on surveys about the workplace completed by their employees." (More about Top Workplaces)
