Welcome to Instructional Technology’s training opportunities.

To see our course offerings, click on the month. Face-to-face and online training sessions are available. Registration is easy. Just click the link at the conclusion of the course description. Events are year-round and coincide with the academic calendar.

Each session includes an overview of a specific application along with time for hands-on interaction. Sessions last one hour and are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

There are sessions for full- and part-time faculty as well as administrative and hourly staff. Select the offering that applies to your group.

    Wednesday, August 1, LIBR230, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

    Technology 4 Lunch: Outlook and Groups is a series of one-hour seminars. Each week, attendees will receive a brief overview of an online application including Canva, Outlook Groups, Microsoft Forms, OneNote, OneDrive and Microsoft Planner. Seminars are open to UIW faculty and staff.

    Blackboard 101: Are you new to the Blackboard LMS? No problem. We have designed Blackboard 101 for first-time users and adjunct faculty. The course will explain the basics of using the Blackboard interface and will include the follow topics: * Content editing * Announcements * Email * Course content * Assignments * Grade Center – This course is open to full-time and adjunct faculty.     Blackboard walk-in sessions: Stop by the Center for Teaching and Learning for an opportunity to get your courses ready for the spring. We can help you to set up your Grade Center, copy course materials from last semester’s course, or upload electronic copies of your course documents to Blackboard. Registration is not necessary, just stop by AD212.

    Friday, August 31, LIBR230, noon - 1: 00 p.m.

    Blackboard Attendance: Many instructors use attendance data as part of their students' overall grades. The Blackboard attendance tool makes taking attendance a simple process, allowing instructors to mark students present, late, absent, or excused. Attendance calculates a grade based on the number of absences and posts that grade to the Grade Center.
