Jim Waller

Jim WallerJim Waller teaches Music Industry Studies, Studio Arranging, Electronic Composition, Jazz Improvisation, Web Design, Record Production, and directs the UIW Jazz Ensemble. He's been in the music business for forty years as an arranger, composer, producer, performer, and recording engineer. For the past twenty years, he has owned and operated Digital Image Recording Studio where he's produced numerous CD’s and jingles. His jingles have won two ADDY’s and three Communicator Crystal Awards of Excellence. He’s written arrangements for the U.S. Air Force Band “Tops in Blue”, Las Vegas shows, British recording group “The New Vaudeville Band” and numerous client's projects at Digital Image.

As an artist/producer he’s had recordings released on Warner Brothers, United Artists, Del-Fi, Arvee, CBS-Columbia and Regency Records.

Mr. Waller holds a MS in Music Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis and a BA in Music Composition from the University of California, Santa Barbara, College of Creative Studies. While finishing his degree at UCSB, he taught jazz arranging and composition at Santa Barbara Community College and directed the SBCC Jazz Ensemble and the SBCC Continuing Education Jazz Ensemble.
