Brian K. Foutch, OD, PhD, F.A.A.O.

Dr. Brian K. Foutch is a professor at the University of the Incarnate Word’s Rosenberg School of Optometry (RSO) where he teaches courses in epidemiology, neuroanatomy and public health. He is also the academic manager for in-house clinics. Dr. Foutch received his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Master of Science in Engineering from Purdue University, Doctor of Optometry and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in Physiological Optics from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and Master of Military Operational Art and Science from Air University's Air Command and Staff College.

Dr. Foutch served over 22 years in the U.S. Air Force in various clinical, research and program managerial roles. After serving in adjunct roles at several universities in San Antonio - teaching courses in general psychology, human perception and experimental design - Dr. Foutch joined RSO as the Director of Education and Curriculum in 2011. Dr. Foutch is well-published in the areas of color vision, macular pigment, clinical case reports, health science pedagogy and medical humanities. He has served as an industry consultant for human factors and perception and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. He is also a member of the Texas and American Optometric Associations.
