The long-standing and synergistic relationship between the research enterprise and graduate education is the philosophical foundation of the Office of Research and Graduate Studies and one of its greatest strengths. The Office of Research and Graduate Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word is the place where engaged scholarship, creativity, and innovation come together to empower the next generation of iinnovative leaders in academia and across a multitude of industries and enterprises. Graduate and professional education plays a crucial role in the economic, intellectual, and cultural environment of our region, nation, and the world. We continuously challenge ourselves to grow academically and professionally through a pursuit of excellence in research and graduate & professional education.
Following a thorough and extensive solicitation of campus input over the last six months from a very broad cross-section of stakeholders, we have refined and streamlined our mission as UIW has grown in size and stature. We have identified, revised, and clarified our goals and objectives to better serve the strategic plan of the university by empowering innovative leaders, enhancing engaged scholarship, advancing discovery and delivery of innovation, and promoting research and educational opportunities for our students and faculty to serve local and global communities. The strategic plan presented in this document provides a framework for strengthening the research enterprise and post-baccalaureate education at UIW.
We are looking forward to operationalizing our goals and objectives as our guide for future direction through collaborative efforts with our local and global stakeholders.
