Dr. Ortiz has over twenty years experience in higher education as an administrator and faculty member. He oversees the area of graduate studies including academic affairs/policies, student support, and data collection/analysis reports. Dr. Ortiz earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University and M.S./B.S. from Texas A&M University.
Cigdem Kocoglu Meek, Ph.D.
Graduate Student Support Specialist

Dr. Meek designs new marketing initiatives for the Office of Research and Graduate Studies and manages student information and services. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of the Incarnate Word.
In 2014, the Graduate Support Center was selected by Excelencia in Education as its National Example of Excelencia Award winner in the category of graduate education.
In 2015 the Graduate Support Center was recognized by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics as a Bright Spot in Hispanic Higher Education.
