Can a transfer student be admitted into to the Feik School of Pharmacy’s Direct Admit Program?
No, the direct admit program is only available for first-time freshmen entering the university.
Can I finish an undergraduate degree and then continue on to the Feik School of Pharmacy’s Direct Admit Program?
No, the FSOP Direct Admit Program is a two year program that allows first-time freshmen accepted into the program to complete pre-pharmacy requirements within two years and then begin at the Feik School of Pharmacy in the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program.
When is the earliest I can apply and when is the deadline to apply?
High school seniors are invited to apply to the FSOP Direct Admit program. Interviews are typically held in January, therefore students are encouraged to apply by the end of December of their senior year in high school.
What are the qualifications for eligibility in the FSOP Direct Admit Program?
- First time freshman
- Graduate in the top 5% of a Texas Public High School OR
- Minimum SAT math of 520, combined math/verbal SAT of 1140 OR
- ACT math 22 minimum score
- Cumulative high school GPA of 3.7
- High school math GPA of 3.7 and high school science GPA of 3.7
What is the process to apply for the FSOP Direct Admit Program?
When you submit your application to UIW, you will be able to indicate your interest in applying as a Direct Admit candidate. The Office of Admission will then verify your eligibility for the Program and forward your application to the Feik School of Pharmacy for consideration and an interview.
How do I maintain Direct Admit Program status once I am a UIW student?
Direct Admit students must maintain:
- An overall GPA of 3.5 or higher
- A math and science GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Membership in the Pre-Pharmacy Association with good standing
What if I apply and am not accepted?
If you apply and are not accepted, you can still attend UIW as a pre-pharmacy track student.

The Direct Admit program includes two years at the undergraduate level, and four years of Pharmacy School.
Can I attend the Program part-time?
No, this is a full-time program.
