Requirements for Admissions

To qualify for admissions in the DPT Program, students must have earned a Bachelor's degree from an accredited Institution with a minimum of 120 credit hours and have all the courses listed below completed prior to orientation. Additionally, students who have not completed one semester of Spanish or Medical Terminology will be required to take a 6-week on-line Beginning Spanish for Health Professions* course or pass a proficiency test prior to matriculation.

General Biology I & II with lab (4 hours each)

2 semesters

Human Anatomy with Lab (4 hours)

Human Physiology with Lab (4 hours)

- or -

Combined Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II with Lab (4 hours each)

1 semester

1 semester

 

2 semesters

General Chemistry I & II with Lab  (4 hours each)

2 semesters

Medical Terminology* and Beginning Spanish for Health Professions*

General Physics I & II with Lab (4 hours each)

Introduction to Psychology- (3 hours)

1 semester

Developmental, Lifespan or Abnormal Psychology- (3 hours)

Statistics- (3 hours)

* The University of the Incarnate Word contracts a qualified provider to deliver 6-week online
  Medical Terminology and Beginning Spanish for Health Professions not for credit courses.
