Learning Environment and Curriculum

The University of the Incarnate Word values thoughtful innovations that serve the spiritual and material needs of people. Within the School of Physical Therapy, innovation is reflected in the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, the problem-based learning and student-centered curriculum, and the global learning opportunities provided to the students.

Interprofessional Education

Recognizing the value of learning about, with and from other healthcare providers, faculty and students have the opportunity to engage in interprofessional education and collaborative practice opportunities with students and faculty from the Schools of Nursing and Health Professions, Optometry, and Pharmacy. Interaction has included and will continue to include participation in case study competitions, didactic learning, clinical practice, and research.

The faculty scholarly endeavors encompass all forms of scholarships - discovery, application, teaching, learning and assessment, as well as engagement. Throughout the program, students, guided by faculty, develop and complete a scholarly project to be presented during CAPSTONE.
