Debra Del Toro, Director of Public Relations
Debra Del Toro has been in the public relations and marketing industry for 14 years. Her strengths include media relations, crisis communications, event planning and promotions. Prior to joining UIW in 2004, Debra worked with the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, St. Mary’s University and as a freelance PR consultant to the City of San Antonio’s Alamodome. She has been involved with numerous special events including the Rodeo, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus, and Disney on Ice. Debra graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Communication Arts.

Margaret Garcia, Associate Director of Public Relations
Margaret Garcia serves the University of the Incarnate Word as associate director of public relations. She has extensive experience in the public relations industry including work with a local advertising and public relations agency, the Edwards Aquifer Authority, FOX TV Houston and KMOL (now WOAI TV) in San Antonio.
Margaret is the liaison between the university and its two Brainpower Connection high schools, Incarnate Word High School (IWHS) and St. Anthony Catholic High School (SACHS). Her responsibilities include media relations for UIW, SACHS and IWHS. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.

Veronica Rodriguez, Marketing and Advertising Coordinator
Veronica Rodriguez serves the University of the Incarnate Word as Marketing and Advertising Coordinator. Veronica has worked as a production assistant at WOAI TV and as a Marketing Coordinator at Armadillo Construction Company.
Her duties at Incarnate Word include scouting new advertising avenues, maintaining advertising schedules and contracts and working with UIW's Mexico City campus. Veronica holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word and is currently working on Master's of Business Administration at UIW.

Ashley Festa, Publications Coordinator
Ashley Festa's responsibilities at the University of the Incarnate Word include writing for, editing and coordinating The Word, the university's alumni magazine, as well as maintaining the university's employee newsletters.
Ashley has worked at three daily newspapers and has five years' experience in a newsroom focusing on editing and pagination. She holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree in English from the University of South Carolina, and she is preparing to begin a Master of Arts degree in English.

Crystal L. Campos, Special Events Coordinator
Crystal Campos is the newest member of the University of the Incarnate Word public relations team serving as Special Events Coordinator. Her duties include planning and promoting the university’s various special events and activities. She serves as lead coordinator for Light the Way, the annual lighting of the campus celebration. She also assists the development office with the annual Swing-In and alumni phonathons.
Crystal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word. Throughout her college career Crystal remained active in various student organizations serving as president of the Student Government Association and president of Alpha Sigma Alpha. She interned with several local public relations firms prior to joining the UIW team.
