Official Transcripts

The University of the Incarnate Word has partnered with Credentials Solutions, Inc. to provide a web-based transcript service. You may request a transcript be sent electronically, or by mail, and you may attach any required documents to your transcript request. The PDF transcript that is produced using this service contains the identical information as a paper transcript and can be certified as unaltered by uploading the file to the company’s website. Credentials Inc. has also been granted the authority to respond to any inquiries regarding the transactions.

Please note: The University of the Incarnate Word does not release copies received from other institutions. If you need a transcript from a prior institution, you must contact that institution.

Official Transcript Fees

Effective November 1, 2018-Transcript fees are $5.30 for a printed, mailed transcript and $2.90 for an electronic copy. Additional fees apply for special services such as express delivery.

Please note: Records are not available electronically for those students who attended prior to Fall 1996.

Transcripts will not be released if a student has a transcript or financial hold.

The University reserves the right to withhold transcripts for those students who have not met all conditions for admission or who have outstanding financial obligations.

Hold Transcript for Grades or Degree

Transcripts may be held for the current semester’s grades or the next degree date. However, if you are expecting a grade change, do not order your transcript until you are sure the grade has been changed. The Registrar will not hold transcripts for maintenance or grade changes. 

When Issued to the Student

Transcripts in electronic PDF format are sent directly from the institution in partnership with Credentials Inc to the recipient through Credentials Inc network.  Email is not used to send transcripts since those are not deemed secure systems.  Transcripts issued to student are intended for student use only and cannot be forwarded to a third-party recipient. Third parties requiring an official copy of the academic transcript should receive the academic transcript directly from the University through Credentials Inc.

Transcripts bear the Registrar’s signature and are printed on secured paper. Transcripts mailed directly from the University of Incarnate Word are official. Orders addressed to the student will have an outside envelope marked “official transcripts enclosed” and contain individually sealed transcripts inside. Each transcript will be stamped “Issued to the Student ” in red ink.


Electronic transcripts will be delivered within 1 business day of the order being processed. Orders requiring special shipping are processed within 2 to 5 business days.  Please allow 7 to 10 days for delivery to and processing by domestic addresses.

Special Shipping

If a paper copy is required and fast delivery is necessary, transcripts may be sent by express delivery.

Options are standard overnight domestic delivery to the main 48 states, domestic delivery to Alaska or Hawaii or international delivery. The additional fee will be charged to your credit card at a rate of $22.00, $25.00 or $45.00, respectively. Requests for express shipping must be received by 11:00 a.m. CST for same-day processing.

Note: Express packages cannot be delivered to a post office box.

    Same-day-service is only available by walk-in to the Registrar's Office. Same-day service does not mean that the official transcript will be received at its intended destination, the same day. This service  may not be available during peak periods such as during registration. There is a charge of $10.00 for same-day-service transcripts. Please note the Business Office only accepts payments made by cash, check or money order for in person requests.

    What is TranscriptsPlus®? 
    TranscriptsPlus® is designated as this school’s trusted agent for collecting and managing transcript orders using the web. The actual fulfillment (creation of the transcript) and delivery of the order are completed by the school. TranscriptsPlus® is the name of the official transcript ordering service. 

    Is the transcript I order through TranscriptsPlus® considered 'official?’ 
    Yes!  Ordering transcripts through TranscriptsPlus® does not determine whether a transcript is official or not official. The status of the transcript is determined by the sending school’s policies and is the same as a transcript requested via mail or in person. 

    What if I want to view and print my unofficial transcript?

    Students can view and print their unofficial UIW transcript in Banner Student Self-Service.  The unofficial transcript includes ALL courses taken at UIW.

    Is my signature required to order a transcript? 
    Your signature is required for all transcript orders. If your order requires a signed authorization form and it is not received within 30 days, your order will be automatically canceled. 

    Is there a limit to how many transcripts i can request?
    Yes. TranscriptsPlus® can accept an order of up to 5 transcripts going to up to 5 different recipients. If you need to send more than 5 transcripts or have more than 5 recipients, you will need to enter multiple orders. At the completion of each order you will have the option to return to the beginning of the process and enter another order. In most cases. you will only have to enter the information that is different than in the previous order.

    Why is my signature required? 
    Federal legislation, referred to as The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), provides specific requirements controlling the release of academic transcripts. FERPA requires that the student personally authorizes the release of his/her transcript to a third party. 

    Can anyone sign the consent form on my behalf? 
    No, you must personally authorize the release of your transcript by written or electronic signature. 

    What happens if I do not return the signed Consent Form? 
    A signed authorization form is required or your order will not be processed. 
    What if I need a form delivered with my transcript? 
    TranscriptsPlus® supports the uploading of up to five PDF documents.  You can upload PDF documents while you are placing your transcript order. 


    Can I request transcripts through the online system and then pick them up later in person?

    No, you cannot submit a request to pick up transcripts via the online system. Transcripts in person are only available for those who do same day processing.

    What if I have a hold placed on my student account? 
    If you have a hold on your student account you should take the appropriate steps to remove the hold within 14 days.  Once the hold has been removed from your account, please contact the Registrar's Office and your request can be updated.  If you place an order, pay the NON-REFUNDABLE vendor fee and a hold exists, your order will be canceled.

    How do I make payment for my transcript order? 
    You will be required to make payment at the time of order with either a MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express debit or credit card.  For security purposes, please enter the exact billing address (where your bank sends your credit card statements) and the credit card security code. 

    Is it safe to enter my credit card information on this Web site? 
    Yes. TranscriptsPlus® utilizes the most current security techniques to keep your personal information and identity secure. 

    What is electronic transcript delivery? 
    Your transcript is sent as a secure PDF document through the Credentials TranscriptsNetwork or are available as a secure PDF download by third-party recipients.

    How long will it take for my order to be received by the sending school? 
    This is contingent upon the receipt of your required consent form. Once we receive your signed consent form, your order will processed as quickly as possible. Turnaround times are slower in times of high volume such as the beginning and ending of a term. Changes in the ordering status are emailed to you.


    How can I check the current status of my transcript order? 
    Go to and click on the "check the status of my order" link. You will need your order number and either your Social Security number or Student ID in order to proceed. Many of the email messages sent by TranscriptsPlus® will also contain a direct link to the Self-ServicePlus™ web application. Simply click the link in the email and you will be shown the status of your order.

    How long will it take for my transcript to be delivered? 
    If your recipient supports electronic transcript delivery, your transcript will be delivered immediately upon processing your request.  Actual delivery time for transcripts sent by U. S. first class mail is at the discretion of the carrier. 

    What should I do if my transcript has not been received? 
    If your transcript was delivered electronically and you received notification of receipt, contact the receiver. If your transcript was mailed by U.S. first class mail, please ensure sufficient time for delivery. If your transcript needs to be re-ordered, you will need to submit a new transcript order with payment. 

    What is the importance of my email address? 
    The TranscriptsPlus® service utilizes email to provide you with important messages related to your transcript order. To ensure that you receive these messages please add to the safe list or white list in your email application. 

    What if I need to make a change of address to my recipient information? 
    You will need to place a new order. 

    Must I use a specific Web browser to use the TranscriptsPlus® service? 
    There are sometimes differences in the manner a particular Web browser works with a specific Web application. TranscriptsPlus® is specifically engineered to work with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. It is recommended that you use the current release of your browser. 

    What is JavaScript and why do I need to have this enabled to use TranscriptsPlus®?
    JavaScript is a support tool that is built into Web Browsers that allow the Web application to be interactive. TranscriptsPlus® is a highly interactive application that displays informational messages to guide you through the ordering process. 

    Who should I contact if I have further questions? 
    If your question is about the content of your transcript (courses, grades, degree, etc.), you should contact your Registrar's Office at  If your question is about the ordering service, login difficulties, refunds or email message notifications, contact Credentials customer service at (847) 716-3005 between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday and between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM (CST/CDT) on Fridays.
