Student Government Association

Mission Statement

The Student Government Association is committed to providing support, fellowship and advocacy for the students of the University of the Incarnate Word. As the designated representative voice for the students, the Association strives to promote a greater understanding and cooperation with the faculty and administration. It works to ensure that the students realize their rights to influence academic policies on the University campus. It promotes student membership on various University committees and boards, which directly affect the student's formal education.

The Student Government Association encourages all students to participate within the University community through student organizations and sponsored student activities. It fosters the open sharing of knowledge of University affairs among the students. The Association encourages the development of, and provides the means for, responsible student participation in campus affairs that promote the mission of the University.

The Student Government Association is committed to upholding the University's longstanding traditions, and to innovatively creating new traditions for the students. It continues to help the University grow and move forward with a student minded perspective. The Student Government Association is completely dedicated to upholding the University's Mission Statement, and to fostering unity among the students with the utmost dignity and respect.
