TRIO STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES is much more than a program at UIW. It is a community within the larger community! Our TRiO Staff and mentors provide a welcoming, supportive, and inspiring place for students who are navigating academic challenges and the evolving environment of the University. The program provides comprehensive, personalized support services to eligible students, helping them to achieve academic success and graduate with a bachelor’s degree. We also support students as they prepare for graduate school and for success.
Student Support Services (SSS) at the University of the Incarnate Word is a federally funded TRiO program. The UIW Student Support Services program provides academic support, leadership development, and educational support services to 200 students who meet first-generation, low-income, and/or disability criteria, as defined by federal guidelines. The Student Support Services program creates a supportive, educational atmosphere to actively promote retention and graduation for participants.
TRiO Student Support Services is a grant program, federally funded by the US Department of Education, designed to serve 200 students from 2020-2025.
