If you are joining us during office hours, any time between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, stop by the Office of Admissions to obtain a booklet for your self-guided tour.
If you are joining us outside of our normal office hours, simply download a copy of the Self-Guided Walking Tour booklet. Parking will be available throughout campus outside of office hours.
The booklet includes:
- a campus map
- descriptions of what you'll see on campus
- photo opportunity spots
- information about nearby attractions

Here are a few items to review before you arrive:
Register for visitor parking.
Register your vehicle for a guest parking permit at no cost via the T2 Cardinal Cars website. You must create a Guest Login to register your vehicle. You will need the following items to register for a guest parking permit:
- valid email address
- vehicle license plate number and state
- vehicle make, model, color and style
You will receive a confirmation email with a receipt listing the valid vehicle and parking date(s). If you have questions, please contact the UIW Parking Office at (210) 283-5066. The UIW Visitor Parking and Information kiosk is located in front of the Administration Building (at the Burr Road entrance).
Wear comfortable attire.
This walking tour is approximately 45-minutes and includes points of interest throughout campus. Wear comfortable shoes and make sure to plan for the weather.

2. Columkille Administration Building
Home to the Office of Admissions, the Business Office, the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Financial Assistance, the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Media and Design.
3. Clock Tower
Also known as the Marjorie Jordan Carillon, located in the middle of campus.
4. Joyce Design and Technology Center
Home to academic programs like Interior Design, Fashion Management and Computer Information Systems.
5. Dubuis Residence Hall and Lawn
Newly renovated co-ed residence hall located at the heart of campus.
6. Lourdes Grotto
Honoring our Lady of the Lourdes
7. Student Engagement Center
One-stop shop for students looking for academic advising, campus dining, student engagement offices.
8. J.E. & L.E. Mabee Library
This facility provides study spaces with computers, research resources and interlibrary loan services.
9. Gorman Garden
Also known as "Friendship Garden"
10. Gorman Business and Education Center
Home to the H-E-B School of Business and Administration and the Dreeben School of Education. Located in this building is also the Financial Markets Lab also known as the "ticker room".
11. Ann Barshop Natatorium
25 meter by 25 yard state-of-the-art swimming pool for UIW swimming and diving teams.
12. Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center
Home to men and women's basketball and volleyball teams.
13. Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium
Home to UIW's football, soccer, track and field teams.
14. H-E-B Field (Softball)
Home to UIW's softball team.
15. Residence Halls
Joeris and Skyview Residence Halls are located in this area.
16. Frank Nursing Building
Home to the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions and includes labs and a clinical learning center with an 11-bed hospital ward and an athletic training and equipment lab.
17. Cervera Wellness Center
Full-service recreational facility with workout machines, weights, basketball and racquetball courts.
18. AT&T Science Center
Home to the Department of Biology and the Department of Chemistry.
19. Founders Hall
Recently acquired eight-story building named in honor of UIW's founders, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
20. Bonilla Science Hall
Home to the School of Mathematics, Science and Engineering.
21. Kelso Art Center
Don't miss the beautiful mural on the front of the building funded by the Russell Hill Rogers Fund for the Arts and designed by local artist Cakky Brawley.
22. Diane Bennack Concert Hall
500-seat concert hall which features musical and theatrical performances.
23. Fine Arts Complex
Includes the Halligan-Ibbs Theatre/Dance Center, Luella Bennak Music Center, Diane Bennack Concert Hall, Elizabeth Huth Coates Theatre Building and Kelso Art Center. It is also home to the Department of Theatre Arts.
