The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is proud to partner with CHRISTUS Health to offer CHRISTUS Associates and their dependents a tuition discount.
The Red Carpet Program, also known as the CHRISTUS Tuition Award Program, includes a 33% tuition discount for CHRISTUS Health Associates or their dependents for in person or online courses at the UIW Broadway campus and the UIW School of Professional Studies (SPS).
The Red Carpet Program aims to provide CHRISTUS Associates and their dependents with quality education to meet career goals and provide professional growth.
Eligibility Requirements
CHRISTUS Associates and their dependents who are based in the U.S.
Associates who are in a regular, full-time work status before the first day of classes for the semester or term or their dependents.
Discount is available for an individual’s first bachelor’s degree or first graduate degree.
Associates and dependents must apply and meet UIW admissions requirements including submitting all previous transcripts.
Associates must submit the required CHRISTUS Tuition Discount Program documentation to the UIW Office of Financial Assistance no later than 14 days prior to the start of the semester or term.
Associates or their dependents may be part-time or full-time student status.
Admissions Requirements
Individuals must apply to the University of the Incarnate Word through the normal application process and will be evaluated according to the same admission standards as all other applicants. To begin receiving the tuition discount, applicants should notify the Human Resources Department at CHRISTUS Health as soon as possible after they have been admitted to the University.
The Red Carpet Program, also known as the CHRISTUS Tuition Discount Program, is a 33% tuition discount for in person or online courses at the UIW Broadway campus or the School of Professional Studies available to CHRISTUS Associates and their dependents.
The discount only applies to published UIW tuition rates for the course in which CHRISTUS Associates, or their dependents, enroll.
The discount does not apply to UIW fees, such as parking fees and citations, books, deferred payment fees or any other fees.
The tuition discount may not be stacked or cumulated with UIW funded discounts or scholarships in any term.
The tuition discount cannot be applied retroactively.
The tuition discount is applied after the final date for the respective term to drop courses has occurred.
The CHRISTUS tuition discount program applies to bachelor's and master’s level graduate courses.
Courses are available on the Broadway campus and the School of Professional Studies (SPS).
Enrollment deadlines are the same as for the eligible programs.
The CHRISTUS tuition discount program does not apply to:
Certificate programs
Doctoral degrees, including Pharmacy, Optometry, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Medicine, DBA and PhD degrees
Study Abroad programs are not eligible for the tuition discount.
Only the Associate's or their dependent's first bachelor's degree or first master's degree are eligible for the tuition discount.
The Associate or their dependent must complete the CHRISTUS Tuition Discount Program Form with the UIW Office of Financial Assistance.
Verification of employment will be handled by the UIW Office of Financial Assistance contacting CHRISTUS and using information provided on the CHRISTUS Tuition Discount Program Form.
Verification of a dependent will be by a method prescribed by the UIW Office of Financial Assistance, such as payroll records, dependent insurance medical coverage, tax returns or birth certificates.
Tuition discounts remain in pending status until UIW verifies employment with CHRISTUS and/or dependent status at the start of each term.
A dependent of a CHRISTUS Associate must have been claimed as a legal exemption of the CHRISTUS Associate on their most recent federal income tax return.
A dependent is defined as:
The biological or legally adopted child of the CHRISTUS employee.
A stepchild of the CHRISTUS employee may utilize the Tuition Discount provided his/her primary residence is the same as that of the CHRISTUS employee.
A child for whom the CHRISTUS employee has legal guardianship and custody for a minimum of three years and has resided with the CHRISTUS employee for that same time period may utilize the tuition discount provided appropriate court documents are presented for total or partial support in anticipation of adoption.
UIW student accounts must be current to be eligible for the program.
Non-UIW scholarships may be applied to a student’s account.
Associates are eligible to apply for and receive state or federal need-based financial aid. The tuition discount awarded will be included in the student’s financial aid award.
