The University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy (FSOP) was founded in 2004 in recognition of the need to graduate a new generation of highly trained, culturally-competent pharmacists and patient advocates to serve communities across Texas and beyond, with a special emphasis on underserved populations. FSOP is proud to offer an environment where faculty, staff and students function as a family.

Pharmacy Program at UIW

In the UIW FSOP Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program, students are more than a number. Students receive individualized attention through faculty office hours, faculty and student-led tutoring. Additionally, the Office of Student Affairs offers support services that include personal and academic advising, registration, financial aid, a business office liaison and other services that allow students to better focus on their studies.

The Doctor of Pharmacy program is driven by the UIW Mission and service to our communities.

Our pharmacy students have dedicated over a million clinical hours a year to helping underserved populations by providing services such as immunizations, blood glucose checks and hypertension and blood pressure readings to the community at health service fairs across San Antonio.

Spanish Education

Build trust and improve health outcomes with our Spanish education options.

Two courses of Spanish for Pharmacists (two credit hours) are incorporated into the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum to increase fluency with basic patient counseling in Spanish that increases practice-readiness among our students. Our Spanish education option provides the training necessary to provide effective patient care to diverse patient populations in South Texas.

We offer a Spanish Certification to graduating students. The certification process requires passing both verbal and written exams, taken during the last year of the curriculum.
