lionel and kathy sosaPart 1 - Kathy and Lionel Sosa will share their inside perspectives on the terrific documentary and art exhibit Al Otro Lado del Espejo, helping us understand the significance of San Antonio's missions, the relationship between San Antonio and Santiago de Querétaro, a city in central Mexico, and the blended cultures and identities that have shaped who we are in South Texas. Excerpts from the documentary, photos of the exhibit, and the Sosas’ art will be shown and discussed.

Part 2 – Revolucionarias and mestizaje in our Texas-Mexico borderlands: In celebration of Women’s History Month, Kathy Sosa will speak about the revolutionaries who have helped lead the journey of change in and around the border, and who have embodied the cultural mestizaje that has defined and influenced her work, as discussed and represented in Revolutionary Women of Texas and Mexico, and her more recently published Mestizaje.
