UIW Hosts Brainpower Connection Elementary Campuses for Halloween
Approximately 250 students from UIW’s Brainpower Connection elementary campuses visited the University for Halloween on Friday. The little ghosts, goblins and minions went trick-or-treating around campus, visiting various departments at tables set up in front of the Student Engagement Center, Gorman Building, Dubuis Hall and the Friendship Garden. Along the way, they were greeted by UIW staff members who passed out goodies and candy. The students also had the opportunity to take group pictures in UIW’s pumpkin patch.
As part of the festivities, several departments on campus participated in a costume contest. The winners of that contest will be announced in the Friday newsletter on Nov. 5.The Brainpower Connection is a circle of support, influence, and collegiality established in connection with seven different institutions, their faculties and students, to share their brainpower. A shared vision, shared faculties, and shared facilities help break down the walls that traditionally separate elementary schools, high schools, and universities. Elementary member institutions include St. Anthony Catholic School, St. Mary Magdalen School, Blessed Sacrament School and St. Peter Prince of the Apostles School.
