The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) works with UNAM - San Antonio as an Intensive English Program provider. Students may apply for conditional admission without English proficiency scores.  Here is the process:

1. Submit completed international application packet to UIW International Admissions Office.

2. Upon conditional admission, UIW International Admissions will contact student to complete the UNAM - San Antonio application.

3. UNAM - San Antonio will issue the Form I-20 for intensive English courses only to conditionally admitted students.

4.  Conditionally admitted student will receive an acceptance packet from UIW with conditional admission offer, UNAM - San Antonio acceptance letter and the Form I-20.

Students applying for conditional admission are eligible for the August, January and July semesters.  Any student that is interested in starting ESL courses in between these start dates must apply directly to UNAM - San Antonio, www.unamsa.edu.

Benefits of Applying to UIW for Conditional Admission

Students that need conditional admission are encouraged to apply directly to UIW to complete the application process and get the Form I-20.  With conditional admission to UIW, students are required to participate in UIW's International Orientation at the beginning of each semester, have access to UIW dormitories, events, and the support of the International Student & Scholar Services Office.  Access to this provides conditionally admitted students with opportunities to meet university students, experience campus life, participate in international events and practice their English skills.
