Yesi is a native of Lima, Peru, where she graduated from Escuela de Diseno with a degree in fashion design. After graduating, she moved to Argentina to continue her studies at the University of Buenos Aires in costume theory and fabrication. Afterwards, she returned to Lima to teach garment construction and pattern making while working with well-known costume desingners for theater and movie productions. She moved to United States in 2003, married and had two children.
