The Dreeben School of Education invites you to the annual Graduate Studies Research Symposium, a two-day virtual event taking place Nov. 17 and 19, 2020. This year’s theme is “University Community Engagement in Times of Covid."

The symposium highlights the faculty, student and community engagement, struggles and solutions during this COVID-19 pandemic. The symposium serves as a platform for graduate students to showcase and share their research and scholarly activities with peers, professors and the community.

Day 2: Poster Presentation Sessions
Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020

UIW students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Registration

All UIW students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to attend the Graduate Studies Research Symposium events. Students and faculty from other universities are invited to the Tuesday World Café. 

Call for Participation, Proposals and Deadline

The deadline for abstract submissions is Nov. 5, 2020, at midnight.

Please submit a maximum 200-word informative abstract in one of the following categories below.

  • Key themes in literature
  • Conclusions leading to a research problem/need, and recommendations
  • The research needs or problem your poster or presentation addresses.
  • Recommendations for advancing your research
  • The research needs or problem your poster or presentation addresses.
  • The specific purpose of your research (and more narrowly of your presentation) in addressing that need.
  • A question or two you are trying to answer with your research may be helpful in expressing your purpose.
  • How, methodologically, are you pursuing your purpose and addressing the need?
  • The research needs or problem your poster or presentation addresses.
  • The specific purpose of your research (and more narrowly of your presentation) in addressing that need.

Proposal Review

A panel of current faculty will evaluate proposals in a blind review process and each proposal will receive a number to ensure identity is not accounted for in the review process. Presenters will receive a notification on the status of their proposals.
