UIW Music Department Presents Mozart Festival Texas 2017
San Antonio – The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Department of Music is proud to present Mozart Festival Texas 2017 on July 29 & 30 and August 5 & 6. The Saturday evening performances are at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoon performances are at 3 p.m., in the UIW Concert Hall.
The Festival, initially presented in the summer of 2011, is San Antonio's premier summer classical music event and is the brainchild of Terence Frazor, a member of the UIW music faculty. Frazor also serves as the event’s artistic director and conductor. Mozart Festival Texas features chamber music and orchestral concerts performed by nationally and internationally recognized artists. The Festival’s 2017 musicians include Austin Symphony’s principal bassoonist William Lewis, Gold Medalist of the 2000 San Antonio International Piano Competition Naoko Takao, internationally recognized pianist Rick Rowley, flautist Megan Meisenbach and harpist Elaine Barber.
Advanced sale tickets for all four concerts are $110. Individual tickets for the July 29 and Aug. 6 orchestra concerts are $40. Individual tickets for the July 30 and Aug. 5 chamber music concerts are $30. Senior and military discounted tickets are available at the box office on the day/evening of the performance.
