UIW Set to Celebrate Spring Class of 2019
Graduates Completed 54,844 hours of Community Service
San Antonio – University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) President Thomas M. Evans will confer degrees to 1,138 professional, doctoral, graduate and undergraduate students at the Fall Commencement Ceremony. The event will take place at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 11 at the Freeman Coliseum.
The graduating Spring Class of 2019 completed 54,844 hours of community service, providing an economic impact of $1.4 million. Community service is a pillar of the well-rounded education promised by UIW and it is the hope of our community that the graduates will continue this legacy of service as concerned and enlightened citizens of our society.
The commencement schedule is as follows:
- Rosenberg School of Optometry and School of Physical Therapy;
7:30 p.m., Friday, May 10; UIW McDermott Convocation Center - Feik School of Pharmacy and Master of Biomedical Sciences Degree Candidates;
10 a.m., Saturday, May 11; UIW McDermott Convocation Center - Undergraduate, Graduate and Doctoral Commencement;
6 p.m., Saturday, May 11; Freeman Coliseum (3201 E. Houston St., San Antonio, TX 78219)
A Baccalaureate Mass is scheduled for 4 p.m., Friday, May 10 in the Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center on the UIW Broadway campus. The San Antonio Pipes and Drums will perform processional and recessional music for the Baccalaureate and Commencement.
Admission to commencement ceremony is by ticket only. Commencement will also be broadcast online. Live coverage will begin 15 minutes prior to start time.
