It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Join the UIW community for the 36th annual Light the Way Holiday Festival, presented by H-E-B. UIW’s biggest community event of the year will feature live music, food trucks, Shoppers' Lane, children’s activities, meet and greets with Santa, and a million twinkling lights and fireworks to end the night.

This year we are featuring local vendors in our Shoppers' Lane Online Marketplace. Attendees will have a variety of vendors to shop from to purchase all their holiday needs, including apparel, ceramics, leather goods, candles, arts and crafts, home accessories, pet supplies, holiday gifts, décor and more! General Information
Is Light the Way free?
Yes, this event is free and open to the public! All are welcome to join us in kicking off the Christmas season.
Is Parking free?
No, on-site parking at the Ancira Tower and at Founders Hall (4119 Broadway) is $10.
Where can I park?
Guests are encouraged to park at Founders Hall (4119 Broadway) or at the Ancira Tower which can be accessed through the UIW entrance on Hwy 281.
Will there be restrooms available?
Yes, portable restrooms will be available at two locations on the grounds.
Will there be baby changing stations?
Yes, there will also be two baby changing stations located near the portable restrooms.
Can I bring my pet?
No, sorry. Pets are not allowed on the grounds during Light the Way. However, service animals are permitted.
Can I access buildings while on campus?
No. All campus buildings will be closed. Portable restrooms will be available at designated locations. If in need of medical assistance, a first-aid station will be set up outside the Wellness Center. If you have an emergency, please reach out to UIW PD at (210) 829-6030.
What are the COVID-19 protocols for the event?
Guests are invited to wear masks and to social distance according to their comfort level. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the event at various locations. All campus buildings will be closed and inaccessible.
For the safety of others, stay home if you feel ill and experience the lights as a drive-through guest anytime between Nov. 20 through Jan. 6.
