President's Posada
UIW Celebrates Students at Annual Holiday Dinner
In one of UIW’s time-honored traditions, students and employees enjoyed the annual President’s Posada presented by Campus Life this week. With finals and commencement just around the corner, UIW leaders, faculty and staff brought some holiday cheer and a well-deserved study break at the event which provided students with delicious food, music and more.
Part of what makes this annual celebration so special to students is that they are allowed a moment to sit and enjoy a moment of respite, while faculty, staff and even UIW President Dr. Thomas Evans serve their meals. Donned in festive aprons, Evans and other UIW leaders and employees ensured that every student in attendance was served a full plate and that their cups remained filled throughout their meal.
After dinner, students enjoyed desserts including chocolate fountains and mini donuts in the SEC Ballroom. They even had the chance to make new friends at an outdoor petting zoo featuring donkeys, goats and more.
Though event specifics have changed over the years, this year’s President’s Posada marked the 38th year hosting a holiday dinner by UIW leaders for UIW students. The annual President’s Posada is a tangible symbol of UIW’s commitment to doing all it can to serve its students.
