UIW Welcomes New Global Online General Director
UIW is pleased to welcome Edith Berenice Quiroz Alvarado as its new Global Online General Director. UIW Global Online offers online programs in Spanish for those who wish to obtain a U.S. degree or diploma.
In 2008, Quiroz commenced her collaboration with Centro Universitario Incarnate Word, UIW’s Mexico City campus. She participated in several recruitment campaigns before being appointed admissions coordinator. A few years later, following a successful increase in student enrollment, she assumed the role of Director of Admissions.
In 2021, Quiroz was invited to join UIW Global Online, where she simultaneously took on the responsibilities of the Admissions Office part time. At the beginning of 2023, she concluded her position at the Mexico City Campus to assume the role of Latin America Admissions Coordinator for Global Online full-time. Her extensive experience in student recruitment has contributed to the significant success of this modality in a relatively short time.
Quiroz was appointed General Director of UIW Global Online this month, marking the peak of her 16-year tenure at the University of the Incarnate Word. Working remotely from Mexico and occasionally visiting UIW's main campus, she now oversees all aspects of the Global Online program.
Quiroz brings a solid academic background to her role, including a bachelor's degree in communication with a concentration in public relations, various courses in marketing, and a master's degree in business administration (MBA) with a dual degree from the first class at Centro Universitario Incarnate Word. Her professional career has been devoted to the fields of communication, sales, marketing and education.
Quiroz is a committed member of the UIW community, serving as a staff member, proud alumnae and faculty member. She teaches classes in areas such as retailing, marketing and written expression.
She is aligned with UIW’s Mission and is passionate about transforming the world through education. She strives to ensure that students can achieve their academic goals and perform professionally with success, and is dedicated to contributing positively to the University of the Incarnate Word community.
