Let Your Spirit Ring: Join Us for Homecoming 2024
It’s that time of year again! From Sunday, Oct. 27 through Sunday, Nov. 3, UIW will celebrate Homecoming 2024! Current and past generations of Cardinals (and Crusaders) will be flocking back to the Nest to enjoy various on and off-campus events.
“I am thrilled to invite you to our Homecoming celebrations, themed ‘Let Your Spirit Ring,’ starting this weekend and continuing throughout the week,” said Ana Hoff, director of Alumni Relations, in a message to the UIW family. “This year's Homecoming theme celebrates UIW’s newly installed Robert C. Crosby Spirit Bell; dedicated in loving memory of our long-time supporter and friend. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, from reconnecting with old friends to participating in exciting activities. Your spirit and support truly make our community special, and we can’t wait to see you there!”

Trunk-or-Treat
This year’s celebration will kick off with Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday. Oct. 27. UIW’s littlest guests are encouraged to dress in their spooktacular costumes and receive candy from UIW alumni and student groups dressed in their own fun costumes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a photo with UIW’s mascot, Red the Cardinal.
Taste of the Pearl
For adults also looking for a treat, the Office of Alumni Relations will welcome UIW community members to the Historic Pearl District to tour local bars and restaurants on Friday, Nov. 1. Guests will be treated to a signature drink and appetizer at each stop on the tour as they meet and converse with past and present UIW professors.
RedZone Tailgate and Football Game
On Saturday, Nov 3. enjoy live music, delicious food, cold drinks, kids' activities and community fun at the RedZone Tailgate. This family-friendly event will allow attendees to reconnect with friends and UIW faculty and become acquainted with new campus members. After the tailgate, cheer on your Cardinals football team as they take on Houston Christian University at Gayle & Tom Benson Stadium.
Breakfast Taco 5K
Join fellow alumni for the Breakfast Taco 5K Fun Run on Sunday, Nov. 3. Challenge yourself athletically and enjoy the scenic UIW campus views. Whether you run, jog or walk, each person who completes the course will receive tasty breakfast tacos to celebrate their victory.
Homecoming Mass
End the weekend, gathered in prayer at the annual Homecoming Mass in the Chapel of the Incarnate Word on Sunday, Nov. 3. Surround yourself with friends, family and community to send thanks for our ever-growing Incarnate Word family.
