Engage, Learn, Create and Inspire

Every summer, the Science, Engineering and Mathematics Institute (SEMI) engages middle and high school students from across the greater San Antonio area in a variety of summer camps.

  • Not only including STEM, but multidisciplinary STEAM (our camps incorporate the Arts!).
  • Many of our campers have the opportunity to work with college faculty doing real scientific research.
  • Many of our camps are free.

In partnership with UIW's Brainpower Connection schools and local school districts, this program offers middle and high school students the opportunity to engage in a summer of STEAM. Each camp is unique and incorporates science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics activities and projects.

Research Academy campers take part in experimentsTrio Upward Bound

In collaboration with area high schools and community colleges, this program invites young participants to engage in real summer research in math and science, introducing them to new ideas and broadening their skills and understanding.
