Non-UIW Participants
Definition
The International Affairs Office, at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), defines a Non-UIW Participant as an individual who is not a full-time administrator, full-time faculty, and/or a registered student permitted, by an authorized UIW representative, to participate in a UIW sponsored international program

To be eligible to participate in a UIW sponsored international program you must:
- be approved to participate by the Vice President for International Affairs in collaboration with the supervisory dean;
- adhere to the Non-UIW Participant Agreement;
- have a valid passport;
- be physically and mentally able to travel internationally.
Qualifications
Non-UIW participants must be legally able to travel outside the U.S. In addition, all participants must be approved to participate in UIW sponsored international programs by the Vice President for International Affairs in collaboration with the supervisory dean.
Process
Upon approval of participation, Non-UIW Participants are to follow both the academic and administrative processes stated below:
Academic Protocol
Non-UIW Participants may be required to submit additional information regarding the participant's qualifications and/or supporting documents related to the purpose of the international program.
Upon Return
Please submit an exit survey in order to (1) capture important demographic information and (2) help assist the University improve future programs. All surveys are confidential and results will not be shared, distributed, and/or reported outside of University purposes. In addition, the supervising dean, academic advisor and/or program director may assess whether the program's objectives and goals have been accomplished by the non-UIW participant.
