Kim Beechner ’10, ’15 was selected to the Forbes Next 1000 list for 2021. Beechner is the founder and CEO of Embark Marketing, a Texas-based, digital marketing agency specializing in the food and beverage industry. Beechner founded Embark Marketing in 2010.
Christopher Lee Marmolejo, a Master of Business Administration student with a concentration in Human Resources, has volunteered at eight events this semester already, including Let’s Taco ‘Bout Mental Health, UIW’s First Responders Appreciation Football game and the Military Appreciation Game, Trunk or Treat, UIW’s Veterans Day Ceremony and more.
Dr. Adesegun Oyedele, coordinator of International Business in the H-E-B School of Business and Administration (HEBSBA), partnered with professor Dr. Karen Weis, PhD, RNC-OB, FAAN, and assistant professor Julio Lujano, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, ENP-C, both from the Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions, to co-produce UIW’s first Opportunity Recognition Workshop on Nov. 1.
The University of the Incarnate Word's Center for Medical Tourism Research, in collaboration with Centro Fox, is presenting a special seminar titled Strategies for the Development and Management of International Medical Tourism. Dr. David G. Vequist, founder and director of the UIW Center for Medial Tourism Research, and Ilan Geva of the University of Chicago / DePaul University, will present to administrators and clinicians in the public and private medical sector, other medical tourism stakeholders and the general public on Oct. 19 and 22. Both seminars run from 9 – noon CT.
Two UIW alumnae were named Top C-Suite Executives by the San Antonio Business Journal last month. Kim Beechner ‘10, ’15 (right), and Dr. Keely Petty, ’94 (left), were two of the 20 honorees selected by the journal.

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is proud to announce that Dr. Jeannie Scott has been elevated to the position of Dean at the H-E-B School of Business and Administration (HEBSBA). Scott has been serving as the interim dean since June 2020.
