Karl S. Furmaga

Karl Furmaga is the Associate Counsel for the University of the Incarnate Word. Karl received his Bachelor’s degree in philosophy and legal studies from Willams College, where he was a member of the tennis team, and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center, where he was a member of the moot court team, an editor for the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal, and the recipient of the highest grade Lex award in legal writing.

Prior to joining the OGC, Karl worked in the law firm setting defending businesses and individuals in litigation and handling various transactional matters. Since becoming licensed in 2013, he has practiced in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Houston, and was included in Scene in S.A.’s 2022 “Best S.A. Lawyers” list. Outside of the law, Karl enjoys playing, coaching, and officiating tennis and spending time with family. He is fluent in Polish.
