In 2006, Dr. Kim Thien Huong Nguyen earned her BS in Biochemistry at the University of Washington in Seattle. While completing prerequisites, she worked for a year at Pacific Medical Center as an Ophthalmic/Optometric Technician. She then went on to Optometry school at Nova Southeastern University where she earned her doctorate as well as an additional BS in Vision Science. After finishing Optometry school, she completed a hospital-based primary care residency at the W.G (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. Thereafter, Dr. Nguyen started her Optometric career with the Houston VA system at the outpatient clinic in Lufkin, TX and then transitioned to the newly opened Katy clinic where she served as Externship Director. In 2017, she became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has served as Secretary for the Texas Public Health Association Vision Care Section. Most recently, she has pursued her joy of teaching by becoming a Senior Clinical Instructor at University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry.
