Carlos H. Alvarez is from the Southside of San Antonio, TX with 30 years experience working in the music industry. Carlos is a 2002 alumni of the University of the Incarnate Word with a B.A. in Music industry Studies. He has worked with area music publishers and currently oversees A&R / Publishing divisions for Azteca Music Group. A Dallas-based Record label specializing in the marketing of Regional Mexican music. In 2019, he also founded Penfo Music, LLC. that works in developing new artists providing record production and marketing services. He’s served as a Trustee on the National Board of The Recording Academy. He has served as an advisor, board governor, Vice-president, and twice president of the TX Chapter of The Recording Academy. To date he has worked on 30 Grammy and Latin Grammy nominated albums and 4 albums that have won either a Grammy or Latin Grammy. Carlos is also a member of Mariachi Campanas De America, serves on the city of San Antonio ’s Music Committee.
